DIY Outdoor Cinema Chairs

You will need:

  • Two pieces 2x2 plywood painted the colour of your choice
  • 2 hinges and screws for the hinges
  • 1 handle and screws for the handle
  • Staple Gun
  • Industrial Velcro
  • Drill
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Outdoor Cushion

Steps:

  1. Place your boards side by side and attach the hinges to create an A-frame. Use you drill to screw the hinges into place
  2. Stand your board up and attached the handle to the top edge of one of your boards. This will make your seat portable.
  3. Cut two long strips of industrial velcro and attached them using the staple gun the the inside of the aframe. This will make the incline of your aframe adjustable. You'll want to ensure these are evenly lined up to the opposite piece on the opposite board so that the velcro can stick together properly.
  4. Cut the ties on from either side of the folding part of your cushion. Using the needle and thread, re-attach these ties to the base part of your cushion. When travelling with your seat, you'll tie these bottom ties to the existing top ties on your cushion for easy storage and portability.
  5. Adhere two strips of the velcro to the side of the frame where your cushion will go. Use the staple gun to secure these pieces.
  6. Stick the opposite side of the velcro on top of these pieces and cover the backs in hot glue.
  7. Lay down your A frame and stick the back part of the cushion on top of this hot glue to adhere the velcro to your cushion. This will allow you to remove and change out the cushion if you would like.
  8. Open up the A frame, adjust to your preferred inclination and enjoy :)
